Default Venues for the Kickboat Bass Challenge 2010 Series

We have decided to not have the Classics at Murray Park but move them to EBA instead, this will be better for the 15 anglers which qualify as they will have all the room they need without spooking the fish.

For the 2010 Series we'll need some new venues, we'll keep Murray Park as it's always a hot venue and a good place to camp out and have a social braai before the comp. So we need two more venues not too far from Jo'burg without boat traffic and venues that will be large enough for between 50 - 80 tubers.

    Any suggestions?

It is difficult for a place if there must be no boat traffic, but I spouse if we have a talk with the owners we can reach an agreement.

    Potchdam!

There are bungalows to sleep in, the dam is more than suitable to host a comp. for 100 guys.

The only question to mind is whether it is to far from Johannesburg

    Just a thought.

Ps: It is for me a little closer than johannesburg.

You would need to choose a dam with little or no motorboat activity. I heard Rietvlei Dam is nice, but no idea where it is ..... I am told it's out Irene side? Just a thought .......

Rietvlei doesn't allow float tubes or boats of any kind, and after a massive chemical pollution problem there seem to be little or no bass left in there There used to be smallies in there as well.

Emmerentia is a big enough dam and has some monsters - nice venue, there could be a problem with all the row boats though

Germiston Lake would be the BOMB! A buddy of mine is going to join the club there just so we can get access. They say no tubes allowed there during daylight hours, but if a comp perhaps they'll make an exception? I'm sure BigB will agree, there's big bass in there!
