Thread: Who the heck is Windy Bay?

Nope, not PE, not even close! Windy Bay is the agency name that I am using to promote the goods that we sell here at Bassing and which will be sold to the tackle shops throughout Southern Africa.... Yep, we do NOT recognise borders when it comes to quality product.

So who are the faces the shops will see? Who will have a Windy Bay logo on their shirts?

Well, for now, we have Mike Smith (my esteemed brother out law) who is doing the management of the marketing drive as a whole. The Bassing pro staff members have all done their bit too to spread the word whenever they are in a tackle shop. But, besides Mike, there are a few other names you will know. Howard Johnson (AKA Dagsie, Bassboy, The Butler) will look after KZN and will also assist in driving product nationwide (his guidance is valued and comes from experience). Howard and Rob Fisher will from now on fish as Team Windy Bay in the KZN Bett series. Someone is apparently hoping to get a certain fishing rod to show off. Hmmm, maybe......... Now you know what Howard is up to after leaving the show Steven Cronje and his Dad Ernie will fish the Cast for Cash as Team Windy Bay E's Foundry (or it might be Team E's Foundry Windy Bay). That will give us some presence in Gauteng as well. We are also sponsoring the Western Cape Money Trail with tackle for prizes in the coming months. That should at least help with making the product more recognisable in the Western Cape where we don't have an active Team at present.

So, what do we have to offer the angler?

That is a post all on its own and will follow in due course (maybe 3 or 4 hours time). I am just tying down another agency or two so that I have a full range of product to announce......

John, I am not only going to make stickers, but for you my friend, you get a shirt as well. You have helped me so much....

What I really need though is a dedicated trolling rod to pass on to you. I will see what the guys have in stock that meet this requirement. Following the thrum of a deep diver like a Series 400 Bandit at 6kph takes a good tip but landing a giant bass on that crank adds further requirements to the deal. Will ask the manufacturers what they recommend.....
