    Default Crackleback 500

    I have been having a hard look at this boat. Length 5m, beam 2.2m, outboard range 90 - 225hp.

    It's built by Escape Boating in Benoni.

    LOL Neil has been making boats for a long time. I also had a look at his even newer range of covers. Innovative. They come with a ratchet to lock into place and have strong elastic tie downs that merely get tugged into place. Very effective!

    I think your boat is going to look awesome Mark. And oh, the livewell folds down and can handle a good 10KG bag any time....

    The 500 is basically a tweaked Bass Seeker 480, which Neil built.
    I owned a 480 which I loved, I saw this boat at Alberts over the Easter weekend when Neil was down for a club comp. He has made lots of minor changes that make it a huge step in the right direction. Most noticeably the planning pad which the 480 doesn't have. and it's got a transom shaped like the Rangers now
    This boat has a 225 EFi on it and it hauls. Neil has managed 127km/h GPS in the highveld on it and he says he will get it faster once he's got the setup perfect.
    I watched him blast away from the river that weekend in a heavy chop and that boat rides like a bass boat should.
