Okay here it goes... We started on a very quiet, cold rusties at 7:00 Sunday morning. 1st stop salad bowl. Fished topwater for 20 minutes without any action so i told my friend that we must move a bit deeper. We then fished in the open water(no grass >15ft) for another 20minutes and moved closer to the grass line. 1st cast into the grass fish on!! 1+1=fish in deeper grass edge..

We explored the dam a bit but spend too much time in the river that was 4 degrees colder than the dam!!

The fish was in very good condition and liked our flukes more than anything else! In total we got 7 fish and missed a few. No reaction bites the whole day!!!

Except for one another boat we were joined by the fish eagle, 3m python (in the water), kudu and hippo (at the launch!!!!!)

Looking forward to what Loskop has got for us this weekend..

Seems rhenosterkop is better fishing at the moment. Was the python in the river? On our last and only trip to rusties we also saw two cros and a snake(in the water).

sounds very close to the spot where the python wanted to to come on board on my previous visit, must be a local resident in that area, we found it opoisite croc bay about 50 from the bank.

It's always nice to get fish under difficult conditions. One day you'll have to take me up the river and show me all CBM's secret spots....lol

Looking forward to Loskop this weekend. If we're lucky, we'll get the first spawn. If not, we'll just head on down the road and fish the MP C4C at Arabie! I hear some decent bags are coming out there...

cool will be in touch, according to your previous reports it seems like the dam has got some good size fish (and I am not refereeing to a 300g vlei) !

Place to camp at arabie, would you recommend Aloe Matlala if we going to stay for the weekend ?
(Sorry for hi-jacking your thread Japie!)
