The fishing at Alberts and Inanda has sucked in the last few weeks. Has anybody had any luck at Goedetrouw lately ? Planning a trip over there so would will like a feedback on the fishing conditions

It is the first spawn of the year. I'm waiting to hear of the new SA record from Goedies shortly! Any members visited recently?
I think Bryan and Mark were there with Jay last week. Maybe they can do us a report.
The KZN weather has been very unstable of recent with a severe front coming through every time we think winter is over. The bass must be getting as peeved as the anglers. Must be like someone stealing your duvet as you are getting ready to spawn!
.........and it was the 1st Natal divisional there this week-end, where I believe fishing wasn't great.
hi myself and partner and 2 other mates went out last week , conditions werent ideal as had blue bird skies for 2 days and strong winds , but needless to say we found alot of fish , mainly males searching for beds. as what happened in the fish off this wknd , we found bass on the wall mainly males up to 1.5kgs caught on cranks spinnerbait and jerk baits , the bass we found were shouling fish as when you found one we ended up catching 6 or 7 in quick succession . our biggest caught between myself and 2 mates was 3.6 kgs and a few between 2.2kg and 2.8 kg .
we fished in the river and had 2 bites as water temps were 60F and the warmest in main lake was 65F.All the fish caught both days were main lake , on jig and cranks , with the odd fish on light mojo rigged plastics , there was no real pattern , other than when you got 1 bite you ended up catching a few more .the spawn in my opinion wont happen for another 2-3 weeks the fish arent ready and water temps to cold .so for 2 days we caught if weighing 5 fish each day was 9,3kg for first day with my mates weighing 13.2kgs and 2nd day 9.1 kg with my mates weighing 11.5 kgs so not bad considering there no other dam in natal at present you can catch bags like that .
