    Default Lucky craft

    Hey Guys,
this is not a plug for Lucky craft but for any of you guys who own any Luck Craft lures, im sure you will all agree that these are probably the best crankbaits on the market, from shallow runners and topwaters to stickbaits and lipless, the quality is the best. I have just come from a 2 week trip to the USA and spent a day at Bass Pro Shops and i saw all makes and sizes, but one brand that is way above the rest is definetly Lucky Craft. A friend of ours went to Japan and brought a selection of these lures back, and i was amazed how well these lures work.
    Any Comments?

Not good stock at the local shops (that's if they even have them). The guys have a penchant for holding stocks of Rapala and Bill Norman. I have 2 lucky craft cranks. I agree, they are tops...
Have a great day at the water

    Hi Roy,

They certainly are sweet on the eye with a beautiful finish. The down side is that they are hellish expensive, and for some or other reason just don’t perform well at high speeds. Not sure if it’s the wobble or the sound, I just haven’t had any luck trolling these lures. My oldest son Alex got a good bass on a Lucky Craft once, but that was a long time ago.

I have renamed them to "Lucky Magic". I have about 30 (from twitch, crank, ratler's) and they really produce. Their paint tend to go quickly but the action stay. If you can get someone with a little more fishing savvy than me to fish them the results might be spectacular.

I own 3 shallow cranks from Lucky Craft (that's all I could afford). I haven't caught anything on them, but believed OT when he recommended them. I suppose it's true, to catch a fish on any lure you must have confidence in it!

I'm not a big fan. There are many shapes and sizes which looks "strange" to me. Too expensive to experiment with them all.

I recently acquired 3 x Duel Hardcore lipless cranks (they caught me). I believe it is made by the same people that makes Lucky Craft? I used these lures extensively on Clanwilliam but caught nothing on it (they were out-fished by Spro Aruku Shad); -)

Riem speaks the truth when he mentioned confidence. I used to catch lots and huge fish using Pick 'n Pay lures in the beginning. But now I want to put the cat among the pigeons by saying that fish (Bass) will get to know certain lures and colours and retrieves after a while and that is why people who do something different with that lure (retrieve speed, twitch, jerk) will keep on cathing on a lure while others will not succeed. You will also have success if you fish a lure (medium runner) at a deeper depth (using different techniuqe) or even using a DD22 in less than 10 feet of water.

This is why so many beginners catch big and lots of fish and than when they are introduced to the sports top anglers they do it like all of us and the size and catch numbers drop

well lets face the facts when u start u dont know better u throw anything and everything and u buy what looks good at the time but if u like a lure and have conferdince in it use it money doesnt catch the bass its the angler but in saying that yes other lures and rods and so on come into play and as we better our selfs we tend to spend more money on things and be honist the fishing is to tecnical so we not having the fun as when we started so we not boating as many fish so we spending so much money on trying to better ourselfs but the truth is for me i like the look of them and im willing to spend the money on them the aruko shad i think is the best lipless crank out there but the pointer jerk and the smithwick rouge are the best jerks and the vickson sammy walkers and the cuckerbugs and the frogs from spro to me work the best so look like OT said if u think it works use it but if u will to spend to learn and u can efford it then try it i learnt that for cranckbait carl i hope this helps u i the choses of ur lure spending
