From these specs the CUC711M sounds like the one you want, you should also check out the Shimano Crucial TC4 7ft M cranking stick for this, I use this for what you want and I have been really happy with this.

Also have a look at the Deep South Topwater/Cranking rod. An awesome rod for a great price! Just right for light cranks or lipless

I have a 7'2 Cumara for topwater (R3300)....and this rod should work for cranking, its MH Fast tip....i personally dont like anything longer....due to the fact that its telescopic....and if its not,it wouldnt fit into a boats rod locker....

i also have a crucial cranking stick that FA mentioned....and the load up and backbone of the rod is amazing....and its half the price....R890

    hope it helps....

If you click the search tab under forum tools and search for Deep South you'll see some of the reviews of these rods.

The rods will be available in a day or so from our online store. I expect they will cost around R1500 or so. Personally I would suggest you consider looking at it as it is a really nice rod for the application and I was very pleasantly surprised when I tested out mine. The nice thing is, it handles the bugger DD22's type cranks with ease as well.

I would rather look at adding the Cumara to my plastics arsenal as it is an extremely sensitive rod. I currently use the Cumara 6,9 MH as my pitching stick - I need to detect the subtle bites that occur when the bait is in free fall in the water column.

I'd go for this one: CUC70M • hard cover - shallow to medium running crank baits

Its a 7 foot rod which means it will fit in a rod locker. The "hard cover" I think refers to fishing rip-rap or rock cover or timber.
    These rods are very pricey.

The shimano crucial crankbait rods are very good, I dont have one but have tried them out. They a 1/4 of the price of a cumara and 1/2 the price of a G Loomis.

Predicting quite a few bank accounts to take a serious knock Hope the couriers are ready...
