Default North Div fish-off Witbank 21/3/09

The final Northern Region fish-off for this season was held on Witbank dam the past weekend. Despite weather forecasts predicting cloudy days with 30% chance of rain, it turned out to be two sunny and windless days.

The fishing was difficult. 35 Anglers attended.
    Day 1: 19 fish weighed
    Day 2: 12 fish weighed
    Biggest fish: 2.4kg
    Average weight: 750gr

My results (or lack there of).
    Day 1: Blanked
    Day 2: Blanked

I caught numerous rats but just couldn't get one that would bother the weigh master! The toughest 2 days I ever experienced on a local dam. Looking forward to OT and EQB's reflection on the weekend...

I hate days like that, and they always happen when you need to perform.

    Better luck next time.

Just cut and paste and we have most of the anglers results.
Never caught so many undersize bass in my life in a comp. They stupid enough to eat a 3/4 ounce jig tipped with a big speedcraw. In 2 years time we should have a lot of keepers in Witbank.

Must also use this oppertunity to congratulate Riem en Tewie on making the Northern Divisional Team to the Bass S.A.'s. At least Riem has proven now that he is not only Huff and Puff but that he can fish as hard as all the noise he is making.

    Well done Guys.

Yes as Ot and Ruff said.
00000000000 is the the score of most.
At least I had the oppertunity to try several lures and they all produced.
Also to mention is that Mpumalanga have 5 anlers in the team of 10.
We will also take most of those to the inter provinsials later this year.
We will bring that CROWN back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well done Ruffy and Tewie! Again, consistency is the key to the good result!

Good to hear EQB! Give it time, you will see that piggy clearing the water 60 meters behind the boat soon.

    Fishton

We are planning a trip to Pobane an April.
That might be a good time to put it to full practice!
